But oh how I miss California and it's crazy crazy drivers. I miss being one of those crazy drivers. But alas the transportation system here in Japan just rocks. I do love the fact that I don't /need/ to own a car in order to live comfortably here.
But I do miss Mexican food. Badly.
Still, moving to another country is, to put it lightly, an interesting experience. I say interesting is "lightly" describing the situation because making a move to a foreign place is a challenge, and I don't mean just getting used to the different customs or being prepared to A) be laughed at for you ignorance or B) get in trouble for you ignorance. I'm also talking about the government/bank/phone/apartment/butterfly-net-quest side to it all. Now I know how people felt when they moved to my neighborhood from afar back in the States, though given it was the States, it was probably more of a headache XD
The reason I moved to Japan was, as I mentioned in an earlier journal, for a job. I took a job as a CG Animator for OLM Digital in Tokyo, Japan, and so far the experience overall has been good. I like my small but cozy apartment, the job is good (just LONG hours--at least 10 hours a day, 6 days a week) and except for the creepy old men, the people are nice.
What I love most is that I have found this deep rooted drive to get better with my art. As I see it, I am far behind. I have much catching up to do. Much drawing to do! ...of course when I have the time ^^ (yay crazy Japanese + industry work hours!) Still, I want to draw everyday, and my goal is to get 10times better by the end of the year.
So with that said, back to drawing!
